Introductory Training June 2010

Prior to the European User's Meeting & Conference (June 17-18, 2010) an introductory training for the handling and application of design software FRIENDSHIP-Framework is scheduled for June 14-15, 2010 in Potsdam. Workshop and training will convey a methodical introduction and smart strategies for time and cost effective design. Both the general introduction and expert consultancy aim at the conveyance of practical skills for the design of efficient functional surfaces for enhanced performance and reduced fuel consumption. The training is based on basic knowledge of the design system FRIENDSHIP-Framework. It may well refresh and enhance the knowledge of the software suite and serve as a useful preparation for the following Users' Meeting & Conference.

• GUI features
• Basics of curve and surface modeling
• Introduction to design engines and variant management
• Feature definitions
• Introduction meta surface: curve engines and Feature definitions
• Introduction tool integration
• Optimization by application of external tools (export of geometry data, objectives, constraints)
• Overview modules and functionality
• Optional: overview section generation and hydrostatics calculation, generalized Lackenby variation for hull form optimization
• Open training
