Dipl.-Ing.
Claus Abt studied naval architecture and ocean engineering at the Technical University of Berlin (Diplom-Ingenieur in 1998, BSc equivalent in 1994), specializing in Computer Aided Design and information technology.
He is a C++ expert and looks back at more than ten years of extensive programming. His previous experience includes project work in the field of product modeling (1989 to 1993) as well as naval architecture and ocean engineering (1998 to 2000) at TU Berlin.
He has published internationally on the subject of parametric modeling of free-form surfaces and numerical hull form optimization.
Claus Abt has been working as a research scientist at the Technical University of Berlin, focusing on parametric modeling and software engineering with emphasis on ships and yachts. He is a Member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (USA).
Claus Abt (born in Ratingen in 1966) is married and father of three children. Having grown up on the island of Spiekeroog, he loves the sea along with the boats and the boards floating on it. He speaks English, German and Icelandic. |
