Design of a VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine) (Savonius Rotor)

Hi Folks,

 

please find attached a fully parametric model of a Savonius Rotor.

With the parameter "periode" you can change the twist of the blades. Several other main dimensions are parametrized, too.

For presentation purposes, I have created an animation setup which you can find in the scope "07Animation". In order to start the animation just toggle the Timer "onOff" by clicking on the small green square.

Our starccm+ expert performed a cfd-computation and created a small video sequence. (Thanks to Carsten!)

In addition please find a short animation of different designs of the model.
