FRIENDSHIP-Framework

The CAE-platform FRIENDSHIP-Framework is generalized software for the simulation-driven design of any products with flow-related tasks. We address design & analysis engineers from the marine and the turbomachinery field, e.g. ship hull designers as well as engineers coming from the aerospace and automotive industry.

Complex free-form surfaces are focused and designed in a CFD-based product development process. Any commercial or non-commercial simulation software for which experience has been gathered can be utilized most efficiently. Embedded automated shape control readily allows investigation of feasible product variants and design optimization. Finally, bringing tightly together parametric CAD, your analysis tools and intuitive automation mechanisms will highly streamline your individual design process!

Parametric Modeling

Is it also a CAD system? Yes! We provide everything you need for a smart geometry design that is perfectly suited for - and this makes the difference - automated processes. Create geometries from scratch with our innovative parametric modeling techniques. For instance, introduce and directly control your own descriptions for angle, area and volume distributions by just a few parameters. Make your product ready for efficient investigation of feasible design variants as well as for formal optimization.

 Coupling and Software Integration

We interface to your dedicated CFD tool: Tightly embed your analysis software into an automated design process chain. Input and output data is exchanged smoothly. Establish a single-click action for analyzing the flow behavior of your modified geometry. Configure and trigger your CFD software as well as do the result assessment - all within the FRIENDSHIP-Framework.

Run optimizations: As a final step of the manual design process, introduce automated shape control. Readily link your created parametric model to provided variation and optimization engines. Generated variants are managed conveniently along with corresponding CFD results for design comparison and reporting purposes.
