Parametric Design and Feature Modeling
|
The advanced 3-day training course "Parametric Design and Feature Modeling" covers the parametric definition of geometries like complex free-form shapes. |
Target Audience
Naval architects concerned with the development of ship lines, as well as, more generally, engineers dealing with the design of functional surfaces.
Objective and Emphasis
This training course focuses on the intelligent reduction of model complexity by means of parameterizations. Fully parametric modeling techniques are discussed in depth. In addition, the powerful technology of feature modeling is addressed.
Structure
Elements of this training course are:
- Frequently used Advanced Curve Types
- Setting up Basic Curves for Hull Design
- Section Definition using Feature Technology
- Connecting Section Definition with Basic Curves using Curve Engines
- Advanced Hull Surface Design using Meta Surfaces
- Introduction to Blade and Propeller Design
Requirements
The course is built on the introductory course Design Principles and Basic Knowledge. However, special knowledge like programming or scripting is not necessary. Download a free trial version of the FRIENDSHIP-Framework here.
