FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS at the “Congreso Internacional de Diseño e Ingeniería Naval” (CIDIN 2025) in March 2025
CIDIN is organized by the “Science and Technology Corporation for the Development of Naval, Maritime and Riverine Industries” (COTECMAR as it is known by its Spanish acronym) within the framework of Colombiamar 2025. Colombiamar is a bi-annual international trade fair that fosters the growth of the naval, maritime, and inland shipping industry, facilitating knowledge exchange, showcasing innovations, and strengthening international business connections.
Following an invitation by COTECMAR, Dr. Stefan Harries, FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS AG’s CEO, will give the keynote entitled “Simulation-driven design (SDD) and data-driven engineering (DDE) in naval architecture” on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. His keynote will present key components such as parametric modeling, numerical simulations, optimization, synthesis modeling, surrogates and the advent of using AI in design, drawing on more than 30 years of academic and commercial projects.
In addition, Dr. Harries will be the host of a forum on “Evolving trends in ship design for energy efficiency optimization” on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The forum will bring together several distinguished panelists and will address challenges, needs, trends and potentials of decarbonizing the maritime industry.
