FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS congratulates the University of Rostock on its new Master’s program “Sustainable Maritime Engineering”.

This year marks a significant milestone for FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS AG as it proudly celebrates its 10-year anniversary as an independent company. In January 2015, a new private stock corporation – FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS AG – was founded to take over the operations of its predecessor – FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS GmbH – under the roof of DNV GL.

Following an invitation by COTECMAR, Dr. Stefan Harries, FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS AG’s CEO, will give the keynote entitled “Simulation-driven design (SDD) and data-driven engineering (DDE) in naval architecture” on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. In addition, Dr. Harries will be the host of a forum on “Evolving trends in ship design for energy efficiency optimization” on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Established in May 2023 in New York, NY, the US office will support our customers and pursue opportunities in North America.

The research and development project RETROFIT55 now has an official website to share news and progress reports as well as detailed information on each partner involved.

The fast monohull designed and optimized during the MarTERA project “AutoPlan” was put on extended sea trials in June and July 2023.

Horst Nowacki, former head of the section Ship Design at the Technical University Berlin, Germany, and former professor at the University of Michigan, USA, a special issue of Ship Technology Research shall be published in the first half of 2023.
